The National Firearms Agreement was flawed from the start and does nothing for public safety.
The NFA should establish firearm categories and basic licencing requirements, but nothing else. It needs to be binding on the jurisdictions
- without exception.
Governments and oppositions should NEVER talk the shooting sports down. They need to talk them up.
Political leaders need to be openly and publicly advocating for, and supporting, the shooting sports.
Security industry personnel put their lives on the line for us. In recent years they have been subjected to restrictions that put them at significant risk from better armed criminals.
Relevant security industry personnel need to have access to better firearms in certain circumstances.
Governments either ignore or don’t understand the economic importance of the shooting sports to the economy.
Governments need to promote the economic value and make shooting grow.
Politicians and bureaucrats who manage firearm policy and laws need to have some relevant qualification, such as a firearms licence.
This ensures they make will make better & informed decisions.
Otherwise what they say is guesswork.
